Libertarian Candidate for State Representative
Eliminate qualified immunity. Eliminate victimless crimes. Eliminate mandatory minimum sentence. Eliminate no-knock raids. Eliminate all forms of policing for profit: civil forfeiture, excessive court costs, speed traps, etc. Require body cameras. Demilitarize police and increase accountability.
I support full Constitutional Carry. I oppose firearm and gun owner registration and "red flag" laws. I oppose expanding background checks to sales between individuals, as well as mandatory storage laws.
Taxes steal from productive members of society. I advocate replacing income and property taxes with user fees (or the equivalent thereof) whenever possible.
I fully support voluntary isolation and public distancing. However, the rules instituted by various cities are unreasonable and excessive; their enforcement is often arbitrary and capricious. Virtual martial law has devastated our economy.
I support alternatives to the current education system, as well as reforming it to reduce or eliminate much of the non-productive mandates and overhead.
Reduce or eliminate many regulations, including most state occupational licensing requirements.
Recreational drugs should be decriminalized; use the money spent on enforcement for rehab. Fully legalize marijuana.
Currently, a minority of those voting choose candidates and officials. Let's make sure the winner at each level has a majority by implementing ranked choice voting.
Whenever possible, government actions should be financed by user fees. Since toll roads are essentially forbidden, the options are pay based on mileage using some advanced technology, or fuel taxes.
I understand the economic pressure on farmers, but we really need to look at eliminating state subsidies – i.e., the ethanol mandate. Ethanol production increases consumer food prices while doing nothing to reduce carbon emissions.
Limit seizure of property to actual government uses. Increased tax base or public utilities are not valid government uses.
An effective means of resistance to unjust laws is nullification. By that, I mean refusing to assist in enforcing unjust laws or those that violate our basic rights.
